Default having two interior issues

first, my fan speed control is only responsive on 5 (the highest). all other functions are fine, just the fan speed, do I have to replace the whole unit, or is there a simple fix? if I have to replace the whole unit, will one from a new model truck work(mines an 03, no digital display, and an upgrade would be kinda cool).

second...my driver side window switch is going out. the window motor is fine, I just have to pull up on the switch kinda hard to get it to move. sometimes its totally unresponsive (which is really cool in the random florida downpours). anyone have any ideas, part numbers or prices?

thats funny, cuz all my fan speeds work, except the highest, lol.... but i dont need it anyways, but it would be nice to get a digital display, but i think someone said on another thread they are not just plug and play. but they could be wrong, havent researched much, cuz im not in a hurry for a digital a/c display anyways.

for ur window controller, i would ask a buddy to let me borrow his driver side control pannel and just switch it off to see if its the switch or its something else, maybe the wiring ??? just a thought.

Same thing happened on my fans, the dealer replaced the panel and harness under warranty a few years back, never had the problem again...

The connector at the blower resistor burns up. You need to replace the resisitor and the connector. The resistor is about 40 bucks and the connector is high as hell, I think its about 80 bucks. If you take the kick panel off the covers the blower, you will be able to see the connector burnt. Good luck

that's awesome info about the connector/resistor, built...thanks man.

gto, unfortunately, I am the one of my friends with any class, they all have fords or dodges. I always new they were friggin useless. I took the switch apart and everything looks fine (the board inside the switch seems fine, no burnt solder points, and the switch snaps into the carrier pretty tightly, so it doesn't really make sense. its acting like there is toomuch distance between the control board pressure point and the lever that hits it, but like I said, everything snaps in nice and tight. as usual, the stealership wants $200 for the damn module.

yeah i have replaced numerous blower motor harnesses due to them melting at the connector. The new updated version has thicker gauge wires.

it usually melts the connector body. the tabs that hold the terminals in are gone, so you need the connector. If you know anybody at a dealer, it will save you some money. maybe try gmparts direct????? over the counter it is about 110 bux, i think.

What these guys are telling you is right. We sell about 5 of these combo's a week at my shop. Trust me you'll be better off if you rpelace the resistor and the harness together. The harness will melt and burn out the resisitor, therefore you'll need both of them. If you can pipe me your VIN # I'll get you the correct [part numbers you need for the fix.
