After reading this yesterday I did a search on those dealerships and there are entire hate websites dedicated to Bill Heard. However I did read something interesting about the contracts those people sign. They sign a document stating that there finiacing has not been approved, if they can not get them approved they have to return the car (It is call 'Spot Delivery' or something). The dealership does this to make you fall in the love with the car over a period of a few days/weeks then jacks up the price to make more money. During all this they sell/move your trade so you are stuck. What bastards.

Just make sure you read everything that you sign.

Check out this website.

I believe that clause is standard practice and is actually not all that evil. If your financing gets denied and you have no other means of purchasing the car, you have to bring it back. The solution to this is typically to find your own financing and effectively pay the dealer cash (which as I understand it is done all the time when this situation shows up).

If your financing is denied they should know before you leave the lot with the vehicle, that just does not sound right.
