Default Ground cable for my amp

I just installed my system in my truck, 2 10's under the back seat w/ a 250 watt MTX amp 4202 pushing it. Everything is hooked up perfect, except for the stupid ground cable coming from the amp. The cable I got in the kit was about 2 feet long, and every metal piece within 2 feet didnt work. I will prolly go buy a longer cable, but what is the best place to ground it???
thanx guys... i hope someone can help!

Where did you mount the amp? Really all you have to do is pull up the carpet (if you mounted it on the floor) and sand off a small spot on the body and drill you a hole. Just after you have the ground in go over it with some clear fingernail polish or some sort or primer/paint. That will keep the bare metal from rusting and terminating your ground down the road.

I used the seatbelt bolt. Just loosened the nut and stuck the ground underneath it.

You might have to wire brush the bolt to get good metal to metal contact.

There are several places to put that ground. There are a few studs coming up back there. You can do what BigKid said at the spot where your Jack mounting plate is. Take the plate off, pull up the carpet, proceed with above suggestion. Find another same size nut, bolt it down and put the plate bace in. Or you can put the jack under the hood like I did and you won't have to move the box when you need it.

I know it was overkill, on my old car I bought a aux battery wire kit from Autozone with 00 wire and ran from the negative battery terminal to the engine ground to the trunk and grounded to the body there and then grounded to the amps each with 8 gauge wire. NO ground noise alot of work <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> .
