Default great news!!!

The kit that GM sells, the steering shaft lube kit, is no longer available. Apparently, they have sent out a bulletin saying that they are not to lube the shafts, they are to start changing them. Replacement cost is 130.00+/-.
Go pick one up, I got the last one at Ramp on long island.

then youd just have to do it again in a few months...

no really, I was told that too, but I figured that wouldn't make any real headway on fixing the issue, just quiet it for a little while

This thread had the new TSB that replaces the shaft with a non-greasable shaft and is supposed to be a permanent fix.

my parts guy said that his dealership is replacing the shaft for free if you replaced your old one under waranty with the "improved design" they put out, but he also said gm might recall but it will takes years, like tailgate cables, bec they want to get all the new vehicles under waranty out of the way, then build up a stock pile of them before they do recalls, even then it would be done in stages, GMPD has them for $91 shipped

Feedback in the steering wheel. Clunking felt thru the wheel, etc. I just had this done at my dealer, feels much better.

There is another post up on the forum that includes the bulletin # and pt #
