Default Got an LQ4 but surprised to see this cooling set up

So I got an lq4 and decided to sell off the lm7 I was building on. I just got the lq4 unwrapped and it has the single fan driven by the water pump. Seller told me it was from on 05 van. I thought all LS motors 05 and later got e-fans.

The truck I'm throwing it in has e-fans set up on the 4.3 already so the hardware is there. I'm guessing I can cannibalize some of the v6 harness to make it work with the lq4 harness? There are write ups so that's not my big question.

2 questions actually.

1) Did the seller mislead me in telling me it was an 05? It is drive by wire but did the lq4 not get the same cooling upgrades the same years as the 5.3s?

2) Would it be easier to just throw the wiring harness from the lm7 in there with the lq4 since the lm7 harness was set up to run efans already and ive already got it converted to run a 4l80? Or would it be easier ti cut off what i need from the 4.3 harness that's in the truck now and add it on to the lq4 harness?

Tell me I have easy options please. 😅

Thanks guys 🖒

Pretty sure the vans kept the fan/clutch and so did the heavy duty trucks. The half tons switched to E-Fans. Heck brand new heavy duty trucks still have fan clutches.

Whatever is easier for you I guess. If using the harness that already would work with the E-fans is quicker, go that route.

Yea I didn't know that most if the lq4's ran the clutch fan long after the smaller motors switched to e-fans. I just watched a video where a guy had an 07 HD Silverado and it was a how to video on removing the single fan... So yay for learning.

is there any difference between the lq4 and the lm7 harness aside from the obvious fan wiring and the 4l80/4l60? Plugs up to the pcm the samemm same sensors in the same locations? As suggested, I'm probably gonna throw the lm7 harness on the lq4.

Also, can I swap over a water pump that doesn't have the big nut for the fan on it? Would look cleaner and take up less space.

I would use the LM7 harness and not even bother with 4.3 harness. As far as removing the clutch fan hit the nut in the counterclockwise direction with an air hammer and it will spin right off. Then buy a black billet cap for the fan threads to clean up the engine bay
