Not that bad, thank god. Driving to a friends house, to watch the Buccs get SLAUGHTERED, and the guy in an M3 ahead of me decides that he needs to make a U turn, RIGHT NOW.
So I slam on the brakes, and cut the wheel to the left (no oncoming traffic). I basically glanced my truck (pass. side) off of his driver side front fender. It screwed up all the SS body moldings on the pass. side, rims and both bumpers are fine, and the alignment is out, just slightly. I think that the damage is minimal.
Oh yeah, the driver has a suspended license. Maybe that will make it his fault, I hope.
Either way, depending on the price of the molding that I need, I don't think that I need to file a claim, but that is yet to be determined.

In my experience, getting into a wreck while making a u-turn is generally gonna be that persons fault for not yielding the right of way. Not having a license has no bearing on who's fault the accident was. That a separate ticket/issue.

Yeah, it really depends on local laws, which way he was turning, how you hit him, etc. They could say that you failed to keep enough distance between you and the car in front of you. But then if you happen to hit the vehicle a certain way, then they could say it was the other guys fault.
If it ends up being his fault, definately file a claim on his insurnace. Either way, its normally a whole lot more than you expect. Which is exactly why we have insurance.
Who knows, but hopefully you'll get all that taken care of. Good luck!

If the road was double yellow lined then it would indicate a no passing and a common sense no u-turn area. I'd say it would be his falt, and he may have broken laws by making the turn.

well, he hasn't returned any calls made be the insurance companies, so I am hoping that means that he thinks its his fault. Which it really is. Its illegal to make a U turn over a double yellow median.
Either way, I didn't file a claim, all the scratches on my truck buffed right out. Hopefully, nothing ever comes of it, because I know that the damn insurance companies would deem me partially at fault.
