Default Got Busted!!!

I got busted last night. I was on the freeway and some guy in a Cutlass(like a 98 model) starts f*ckin' with me. I was in my GT1, so I smoked the a**hole. At first is was a close run, but at around 100, I walked away from him. Anyways, I had just started slowing down from about 115 and as I reached an overpass, I see a police car. I down shifted, but it didn't help much. He pulls me over and asks me "Why I think he pulled me over?" I told him "speeding", he says "How fast?", I said "85!?", he said "84". I was relieved, because when I saw him, I still was doing over 90. So, I got a ticket for 84 in a 65. BIG DEAL. My last ticket was in 2000, for 102 in a 65!!

Here's the best part!! I was driving home at around 2AM and run into that Cutlass again. He tries to mess with me again and I ignored him. He found a newer Z-71 to race. They were going over 100 and flew pass me. I could care less. As I was nearing my exit, I noticed a State Trooper had someone pulled over. As I passed, I saw that a**hole in the Cutty. He was behind his car getting searched and from the looks of it, he probably got arrested.

All I know is that in Kern County, CA, if you get nailed going over 100 mph, it's an automatic $1,370 fine and you lose your car for 30 days...and BTW, that $1,370 counts nothing towards that 30 days of storage!

You get your licence suspended for some time if you are caught drag racing here in TX. I think anything above 25mph is wreckless driving and you can get arrested for that.

Yeah, its a pretty damn expensive fee. Most people get caught right by Wasco or Lerdo Highway. Whered you get busted?

Right around Lebec if I remember correctly.

It was interesting because the CHP said he didn't get his radar out in time to get me, so he could only cite me for speeding over 65. But when I looked at my ticket it said 91 mph. And if you are from California, you know that if you're over 90 mph you cannot go to traffic school.

So I fight it. I drove up to Lamont to court, and lo and behold, there are 3 other people there to see the judge who have 91 mph written on their tickets. Makes me wonder how many people just pay it without showing up. Especially illegals and other miscreants.

Anyway, I'm squeaky clean and the judge notes this, and asks me if I want to go to traffic school. Of course I say yes. The judge asks the officer if he has any objections, and he says, "No, your Honor, Mr. Xxxxxx shouldn't be here, he was very polite and courteous, blah blah blah."

I think the CHP is now charged with making up for California's revenue shortfall, from years of fiscal mismanagement....

I also heard 25 and above you cant take deffensive driving to get it dismissed. I got caught doing 87 in a 65. So i got to take the class to get it dismissed. But you cant take the course again for another year. Im halfway through

No driving school here, unless you get a certain number of tickets in a certain amount of time.

After you get your one 'get out of jail free, pass", that's it. Next time you break that x-number-tickets / x-amount of time rule, you loose your license. I used mine a few years back.

20mph over here, is reckless. Reckless can = jail.

That ticket in 2000 for 102 in a 65 got removed. I talked with the judge about it and he said it didn't matter if I was going 66 or a 106, it justs increases the fine. Anyways, he let me do deffered adijudication (spelling?) and just paid the fine without the ticket on my record.

This one is a 84 in a 65, so it's only 19 over and I should be able to take defensive driving. Usually, the courts don't care about tickets, they just want the money!!!

I've heard Texas is on the point system!?! If you get too many tickets, you can lose your license. It depends on the officer if he wishes to arrest you for driving over 25 over the speed limit. Just don't get sh*tty with them and you'll be alright.
