Default Good price?

A local is selling a whipple supercharger, intercooler, all the piping, ecm, walbro pump, and everything else you need and a decently build up transmission for 2500 bucks? Should I jump on it?

Hes selling it because the first day he had it he blew the transmission, got the built transmission and then blew the motor putting a 3 rods through the block

if complete and in good condition, yeah sounds like a screaming deal with the intercooler and all.

Weaknesses:
1. No intercooler
2. ECM is a piggy back system
3. Only comes with two add on injectors
4. Customer service leaves a lot on the table
5. No resale value -- Whipple requires s/cs to be evaluated and updated in order to flash the computer... I was told this always leads to at least $1500 in charges by a whipple employee
6. Parasitic loss
7. belt slippage
8. Needs full exhaust for maximum potential
9. pulley change to change boost
Via Sticky in forced Induction thread

#2 Ecm is a piggy back system??which means?
#3 That mean you only require 2 new injectors? or only includes 2?
#5 says whipple requires the s/cs to be evaluated to update the computer? So I know Im probably looking at this wrong but does that mean only whipple can supply a tune orr??

the piggyback computer system is wired into the factory PCM and controls the 2 extra injectors that are included with the supercharger kit. the best thing to do is throw it in the garbage and get a set of 8.1l marine injectors and find a good tuner. the whipple setup definately won't break any records but i've had **** tons of fun with mine. it made 350 rwhp and put my truck in the 12's with an otherwise stock 5.3

it took 8-9psi and alittle race gas to put it in the 12's. with only pump gas your gonna have to stay around 6-7psi.
