Default is this a good price?

im thinking of trading in my 2500HD for a SS. i got a quote from a local dealer for a 2004 SS with chrome wheels, no xm and no onstar for 32,900.

should i hold out for more off, or is that a pretty fair price?

I have seen them go for under 32K. It's really up to you how bad you want and how much you are willing to negotiate.

What dealer is that?

Darcars has two '03s left on the lot right now. They were willing to do about that same price. I'll get a newer one if I can get it for the same price.

Darcars wouldn't go any lower even though the trucks are over a year old.

fox in laurel quoted me on a 04 black on at 32k. JBA quoted me 34,700 on a blue one. i had a good experience at fox on my 2500 and a really really really crappy one at jba when i bought my vette. the owner at jba said he would give me $600 off a truck if i buy at jba.

funny you say darcars has 03's left, i asked for a quoted on a 03 tahoe from sheehy and they came back about 2000 off the sticker! what, are they crazy thinking that someone will pay that for a 03 when the 05's will be on the lots soon.

I would get the 03 if it were me. They have the return fuel system that is better IMO.

I've had bad dealings with Fox in Laurel before(actually not me but, a family member).

Sheehy has excellent prices most of the time. No haggle if I remember right, they just go straight to their lowest price.

I never got back in touch with the lady at Darcars, they can sit on those trucks and think about it a little longer. The only nice thing about the '03s is that they have the normal truck return style fuel system where the '04+ have a setup similiar to the Fbodys.(Not the best for high hp mods ) Probably easy to convert though.

My brother in law knows one of the Winegardners pretty good so I might see what he can do for me.

***edit*** Blownchevy beat me to the fuel system thing.

Damn, I should've never mentioned those trucks were there.

I wanted them to stew for a while.
