Default Good idea?

Just found a 2000 Silverado 3500 w/7.4 being parted out. Can get my hands on the engine and trans at a good price. How difficult would it be to swap into my 2000 RCSB? Is it even worth it? Or should I just keep looking for a 6.0?

I think you are way better off getting a 6.0L. It's a drop in affair. The 6.0L makes more horsepower than the 454, might be a little short on torque though.

Either way the money you'd spend trying to make the 454 work could go toward building the 6.0 a little.
