Default Going to Canada!!!

I'm going to Canada in a few days on August 7th. I'm going from my home in Willows, California to Vancouver, BC Canada which is a total of 817 miles one way. You can see the map
here. It will be a hell of a trip!! I can't wait to pick up my Z!!! I have two questions though, I've heard many different things so I figured I would ask all of you. What do I need, specifically, to go into Canada and come back into the U.S.? Also, will my transmission (4L60E) hold up? I know that the 4L60E's are weaker than a kindergarden schoolgirl so I'm a bit worried. Does anybody have any towing tips to help keep my tranny together? Any feedback will be appreciated!
Thank You

What are you going for, just to pick up your truck? Or vacation too?

I've driven from San Diego to Seattle up the 5 a couple of times and it's no big deal really. Straight shot. If you're towing with the 4L60 I'd say just be sure you have a tranny cooler (factory or otherwise - my truck came with a towing package but doesn't have a cooler if you can believe that). If you don't have a shift kit, get one installed if you can. Otherwise, enjoy the drive, it's beautiful, especially around the Lake Shasta area. Have fun!

You need to have a drivers license & birth certificate or passport.

Definitely don't forget that. I was back home in Michigan this past May and the lady at the border bitched me out big time for not having a passport. She let me go anyway but I think it was definitely an exception because I was nice to her. Growing up you never had to have one, but post-9/11 you do.

Post 9/11 .. lots of ID, and a trans cooler if you are towing, welcome to our
country, but not much different than the rest of the left coast.

Is a Drivers Licence and a Certified Birth Certificate fine? The wait on a passport is a few months

Is the tranny cooler located right behind the Chevrolet symbol? Also is it about the same size?

Any word on that? I'll post a picture tomorrow if I don't get a reply.
