GM redesigned 4.3 v6 LSX based????

Well an OHC design from GM would be intresting but since they use the 4.3L in so many other applictions I would imagine they would stick with a pushrod design.
Only time will tell

I also agree push-rod design or not, I venture to guess DI is in the future of the up and coming engines and really should be.

302 @ 6500 rpm (3.7L V6)
360 @ 5500 rpm (5.0L V8)
411 @ 5500 rpm (6.2L V8)
365 @ 5000 rpm (EcoBoost®)
After riding in a 4.3 equipped S-10 and fullsize trucks, I agree that they definitely suck and are turds.

I had a 96 silverado 4x4 4.3l 5 speed and wasn't bad for a reg cab but it pulled 12 big round bails of hay on a 20ft trailer without a problem doin only 40, and pulled a 99 fullsize suburban with car trailer down the highway 55 mph struggled on hills but still pulled all day never showed signs of givn up, my opinon its not built for racing or pulling all the time but if ur in a pinch it will sufice just fine a lsx based 4.3 would be awesome even better if they put a turbo on it.

I have no complaints about the 4.3, especially the Vortec in my 93 S-10 blazer. It's a screamer! I have had my fair share of 4.0L and H.O. 4.0L Jeeps with their so called torquey 6 cylinder and my blazer blows the doors off them. 3,200 lb 21' wakeboard boat drug with no problems up and down the highway to the lake... Ford is not a comfortable vehicle to ride in (2010 platinum) or a good looking vehicle (any) GM powers majority if not all boats on the market today because their pushrod motors are the S**T!!!

The 2012 Boss Mustang...yes, it is a car, but still the same basic engine.

I was talking to a master technician friend of mine and he was mentioning gasoline engines going away from traditional ignition systems....an initial spark to get things going, then rely on heat and pressure for combustion...yes...diesel style....controlled detonation chaos.
