Default GM Rant...

So I'm installing a cam on a 05 ECSB with a 5.3 and I guess GM in their effort to save 50 cents per vehicle omitted a drain for the radiator. Way to go GM.

Default It should be there

I have an 01 and the drain is at the bottom driver side.

On mine anyway.

Yea, I did a 02 6.0L 4x4 about a month ago and it had one. Even had it's own hose you folded down to run it down through the frame. This one has the little molded in ring to hold the hose, but no hose and no drain. I guess the bean counters had their way and told the engineers to start leaving them off. This is only the 2nd truck I've cammed. Done over 30 cars.
BTW, it's hard to catch it all and it makes a big mess when you just pull the bottom hose to drain it.

lol idk why they change things like that ... it seems like the 99-02 truck were the simplest to work on.. for little things like that.

mine has the little hose on the side but then again you are complaining about an 05 pickup.

No drain on my '04. Drains much faster when you pull the lower rad hose anyway. Most of it ends up in the bucket if you are quick enough!
