Default gm acronyms

Could somebody post what all the gm engine acronyms mean and what kind of car/truck/suv they came in.
Such as:
lq4, lm7, ls1, ls2, ls7, ls6, lq9, etc, etc and what years these cover. I know a few of these but im not sure on some. This might need to be part of a sticky also. I know some of these are in the sticky but they are spread out. Somebody please tell me if this info is already in 1 post if i missed it.

LQ4 is a 6.0 they came in the silverado/sierra hds

LS1 is a 5.7 350 that came in the C5 vettes the 98-02 camaros/ta's and i think 2 yrs of the gto

LS2 is the new GTO motor 6.0, i think there also in the trailblazer ss
LS7 i think is the C6 motor

LQ9 6.0 Vortec Max, Silverado SS, Denali's, Eskyies, VHO

im sure there are probalby more to some of these but i figured id get the general ones outta the way for someone... dunno em all though

6.0 ls2 is the vette and the gto motor...... the ls7 is only an option for the zo6 vette..... i could be wrong but i think that tb ss engine is bigger than a 6.0.... i thought it was a 6.2

first of all the LS1 is a 346 id dont know why someone would be so ignorant to say its a "350" geez

the LS2 is in the c6s too
LS6 was the c5 z06 engine
LS4 is the 5.3L impala ss and monte carlo ss engine
the LS7 is the c6z06 motor
the LM7 is the 5.3
the LR4 is the 4.8
the L18 is the 8.1L big block
the L92 is the new 6.2L in the denalis and escalades
the L76 is the new 6.0L in the vmaxs

the rest of what beastmode said is correct

99-00 lq4s had iron heads - not desirable -
99-00 lg4s had longer cranks
99-00 lr4s had longer cranks
