Default Gauge mounted in cluster, how?

I am seriously thinking about relocating my tranny temp gauge into my stock cluster because I do not see the point in spending $500 on 2 more gauges to fill my pod.

This is the location I am talking about, and am wondering if anyone has any pics or how-tos on how to do it

BTW I know that is for an 03+ cluster, it is the only pic I could find. Mine is a 99-02 cluster if it matters.

Found a pic of the 99-02 for reference

I like that idea, I have always believed with a dremel and ducttape there is nothing you cant do

Is the diameter of the guage bigger than that opening?

Put one where the airbag on/off switch is. I have a dual gauge pod on my a-pillar and I plan on maybe buying the Socal Diesel overhead console pod as well if the need should arise.

I'm not wanting to spend $100-250 on a cluster for something I already have man, sorry. I just don't see the point. I want to put the gauge I already have into the blank slot in my cluster. I HAVE seen this done before.

I'm not looking for an alternative mounting spot, I've seen all the different pods and mounting spots. I'm interested in putting it in the cluster.

Thank you!

Was it hard? Did you just wing it or is there a write up somewhere?

Do you have a picture of the backside of the gauge, to show how it mounts in a pod?
