To me, I didn't see the need to paint it. It's black, and everything around it is graphite with black accents. The instrument cluster face is mostly black. That's why I didn't bother painting mine.

Cool

By the way, I like your garage/man cave! Pretty cool, but I don't think I would be doing much work on my vehicles in there. I would be too worried about making a mess or stinking things up.

All AEM and look OEM

Edit: just realized it not the correct body style but you get the point. Doesn't affect my visibility but was distracting at first

Yeah the black pod doesn't really stand out that much against the pillar. When I ordered the pod I ordered the paint at the same time so I may as well spray it. The paint was ridiculously high at $16

Thanks but a little to late

The plastic tiles clean up really easily with oil or trans fluid spills. The only thing that has stained the white tiles is brake dust when doing brake jobs. I have some extras to change out when they get damaged or stained.

I don't blame you for painting your A-pillar pod since it covers only a small portion of the factory A-pillar trim, I would've done that. I was talking about the steering wheel pod. My A-pillar pods (2 gauge) overlays the entire factory A-pillar trim, so I didn't bother painting it as well.

Just a heads up... the SEM 17113 Graphite is a perfect match for my 2000 Sierra interior.

Washed the pod with prep-sol then scuffed with a scotch-brite pad. Washed the pod again (these parts have a release agent during manufacture that can cause fisheyes) with prep-sol. Masked off the exposed OEM A-Pillar then shot one very lite coat. Let it flash 10 minutes then followed with another lite coat. Let it flash 10 minutes then followed by a medium coat. Let flash 15 minutes then followed with a medium-wet coat.

Perfect match as I did not spray any of the OEM pillar

I hate the way those add-a pods look. Look like crap. I wish they still made pods integrated into the a pillar for us

I found on some diesel sites, they have the column single/dual, up to 3 molded into the pillar, the airbag switch spot, overhead console and a few other spots. They had the best offerings i found. I even thought of mounting it in the driver ac vent and leaving some slots some how. This weelend im going to baton rouge to get a escalade console and associtated pieces, maybe make a mount inside it.
