Guys,
I recently installed a shift kit and had been tuning 1->2 shift with HPT. In doing so I was logging my Trans temp while driving. I installed a trans temp gauge in my cluster good while back. You have to pull the needles and put them back on. Good chance of error. Trans temp was way off to what HPT was telling me the temp was. Anyway got down to the cluster and decided to calibrate all the gauges to the PCM outputs via HPT. Got the tach real close, trans temp, oil pressure, etc.... The big suprise is how slow to respond and really inaccurate the temp gauge is to readings from HPT. Almost like they are reading in two different areas of the coolant flow. The gauge near the actual radiator side and the ECT temp from HPT on the engine? I just got it somewhere near close for an average temp and called it good.
