Default gas mileage...

what kind of gas mileage do you guys get? i know trucks don't get great mileage anyways, and mine is no exception. around town it blows. on the highway i've gotten ~20mph from dfw to NE Arkansas so i know there's potential. once i get my new motor/trans installed i'm going to switch back to 3.42 gears, these 4.10s blow for mileage, but they are the only thing that gets my turd moving right now....wont be long before thats not the case anymore.

Man I hate to do this, but use the search button up top. This question is asked like once a week.

TRUTH.

Well, keep in mind this is a performance truck board and fuel economy is not like the most important thing to consider. Giving up the 4.10's and going back to 3.42's is a step backwards in performance....although I totally understand your reasoning.

right now the truck will suffer with the 3.42 gears, the 4.10s totally woke it up, the thing has 120k miles on it so you could imagine. however with the new trans/converter/motor going in soon i don't think it will need all that gear anymore.

Right now on a freaking untuned 6.0 it is horrible, I am probably getting 175-200 from a lil more then half tank. Thats being easy on it lol. Well now that i am typing this and seing what others are getting with the 6.0's it isn't that bad..

15 to 17 crew cab 5.3 w/ 93 Tune and 33" tires and 3.42 gears, almost doubling the tire weight killed the fuel economy. Adding and removing that little lower air dam adds almost 1 mpg to my truck. Lowering the front back to almost stock has helped too, the less air going under the truck the better.
