YES

it is a great tuning tool. helps get your 60' times down, helps figure out your shift points, there are many things it works well for. it isn't as acurate as they say but it is very consistant.

I don't recomend the older G-Tech but the newer ones are supposed to be good. I use the Passport G-Timer which works excellent IMO. Every once in awhile I get a glitch and it says I am like half a second faster than I am but it's few and far between.

At the track it is on average .12 10ths quicker than normal ET and .7mph faster BUT if you were to deep stage to elimate roll out then I bet it could easily be under 1 10th difference.

For instance I would G-Tech the track almost every night on my commute home (nice country backroad I use). I would always be between 14.27-14.4@95.8-97mph. Next time I went to the track I ran a best of 14.29 with a worst of 14.48. That is accurate enough for me.

Ohh, level roads are a must!!!!

people dont really get it, its not that accurate COMPARED TO THE TRACK. but its accurate on the street compared to other cars. like what u run on the street is ur gtech time and what u run on the track is ur track time

so what im saying is track time and street time r two different things, so ofcourse they dont compare

But it does give a general Idea if a mod made a difference. I know the times from a gtech and the track are not comparable. The way i see it is if the gtech is consistant with its self, then I have a cheap way of testing my mods. Beats the hell out of 30-40 bones a mod to test them.

F8L, does that sound about right?

the gtech is very consistant, perfect for testing new mods on the street. dont get an old one.

Should you establish a baseline set of times at the track first?
