Default Fuel Sender part #?

I've searched around a bit and can't find a part number for just a fuel sender. Anyone got it?

I guess I'm going to fix my bad gas guage so it stops bouncing around all over the place, get's a little annoying seeing the low fuel light keep coming on with a full tank.

BTW, the truck is a 2000 if that makes a difference.

Thanks

The fuel sender is part of the fuel pump, and can not be purchased separately.

Checkout GM Parts Direct

The part number for the pump module is 25345026 or 25176865 depends on the type of pump in your vehicle.

I have heard that if you go ahead and drop the fuel tank, you can somehow clean the connection of the wiring harness and it sometimes works. It might save you money as to try it but it also means more labor and a possibility of dropping the tank twice. That would kinda suck.

Yes, I had to replace my fuel pump a couple of times, because of dirty gas. The pump cost me $250 from the dealer. I did notice the float (sender) has two electrical pins that slides on a potentiometer, this could be your problem if the electrical pins become weak and lost their contact. When I replaced my pump I went ahead and cleaned the connector with some electrical cleaner.

Yeah, it's a potentiometer. I might try to clean it and see if that helps.

I've read that people used to be able to buy the sender seperately for $80-$90. If they changed it so you have to buy the complete module that would suck but, it wouldn't surprise me.

Thanks guy, I'll keep an eye on this post for more info.

XLR8,

Sensor, fuel level:
99-01 25314460
02-03 25345176

Those should be it. Unless they superceded with new numbers.
