Default fuel gauge problem

i have a problem when i hit 1/4 tank of fuel.

when i come to a stop or slow down with my truck the gauge drops to empty and the light comes on, then once stopped it goes back up to 1/4.

anyone know whats going on?

Thanks.

sounds like the fuel is sloshing around in the tank due to the weight shift forward as you hit the the brakes causing the float to read low.

Im guessing that the sending unit is starting to crap out. IIRC, the sending unit is part of the pump itself, time for a fuel pump.
