Default Front frame clunk/pop

When ever Im turning in parking lots, I get a pop or clunk from the floorboard area on the driver side. Its a SINGLE clunk and NOT the intermediate steering shaft's multiple clucks. It will do it once if i turn left and then it will not do it again until I turn right.

I remember reading a TSB on this a long time ago but I can't find it.
My dads 2004 2500 LD does the same thing too.

Anybody know what it could be?

Tighten the 4 bolts and nuts on the crossmember by the oil pan. gm undercoated, and then put the support on.

...yes try that. If that doesn't fix it...read my Sticky about popping in your steering wheel. Both common as the day is long.

I did actually clean those mounts and put loctite on the bolts before I bolted them back on. Still had the same problem. I did notice that they were backing out quite a bit.

I'll look in that thread, but this is not an intermediate steering shaft problem. I've fixed that and I know what it feels like.

I had the same issue, I think. Reach under the driver door and grab the torsion bar and shake the **** out of it. I bet it clunks. If it moves, thats definately the problem.

I just got my truck back from the dealer to remedy all the noises. Dealer replaced the intermediate steering shaft and placed washers in the front crossmember to get rid of the slop. There were TSB's for both
