Default front end conversion

well my truck was hit and my front end is pretty banged up so while i replace the entire front end i want to do the 06 chevy front end with the hd hood. i know i have to do both fenders, hood, bumper, valence, head lights and the turn signal lights, grille and emblem. My question is the more i keep looking this up it keeps coming up the where the bumper brackets bolt up its different and must be welded. Anyone here do the swap on a truck similiar as mine can verifiy this does everything bolt right up? And yes i used the **** outa the search button i just want to verify everything bolts right up to make the install go smooth.
Thanks, Abel

i actually found that thread when i was searching and that's how i discovered the mounts are different. Did you have to make your own mounts or how did you go about using the bumper?

I can't find any of the build pictures on my computer, but "I THINK" I just drilled a hole through the frame for the newer style mounting bracket. I remember it wasn't too difficult to make it work. The hardest part was the drivers side fender, lots of wires...
