Default Swaping a 2000 front clip with a 2005

I've gathered up almost everything I'm going to need. I just need one more marker light and head light bucket for one side.

I plan on getting a cowl hood and a SS bumper cover. The bumber assy I have now has fog lights, and my truck came with fog lights from the factory. I was going to use them inside the SS scoops like some-ones on this site, but I wanted to know what it took to get them there.

Also what parts were removed to install the SS bumper cover? I think the lower valance goes. (it better for my charge air cooler)

Every-one I've talked too said the front clip is a derect swap. can anybody confirm this?

Also the 06 front-end is starting to grow on me what all is different between a 05 and 06? just the grill and hood?

Pics will be posted as I begain the swap.
BTW if anyone needs front end parts hit me up, I most liklly have them.

I would do the 06 clip if you have the means. The grille assembly and hood are the only diffs I know of.

The '06 front end is great looking, I do also think it is only the hood and the grille that are different.

I've seen 06 hood with 05 grille. There are two small angular gaps between the hood and the grille adjacent the headlights with such a configuration. I don't think the reverse would work (without significant work to the grille) as there would be interference.

The top of the top of the 05 grille (where the two vertical bars by the headlights meet the hood) continues the angle of the headlights, i.e., about 10 degrees from level. The top of the 06 grille is flat.

I know that the 05HD's hoods and grills are identical to the 06, now standard on all lines of silverado's, the 03-05 c1500s have the same plain hood and grill.

Yeah, I heard you have to get the HD grill and HD hood so they can match up perfectly with the lines. If you just get the HD hood w/o the grill I hear it leaves a noticable gap, but not that huge of an issue. As far as the SS bumper cover goes, yes, all you need to remove is the lower valance.

So the 06 front ends bolt on and line up to the 99-04's?

No, not on the 99-02's only on the 03-07 silverado classics. If you have a 99-02 they have a raised HD hood and that bolts right up w/o the HD grill.

Well so far so good, I got one fender mounted...... BTW the mounting brackets are the same for 2000 and 2003+ 1500 not sure on the 06 though. I just hope the bumer goes on this easy. I'll post pics when it is done.
