Default Fog Light Question

My truck has the valence for fogs and it has fogs (i guess the guy before me put in the bumper with the valence for fogs) installed but i dont have the switch inside the cab(mines not equipped with them) , i was wondering could i hardwire them to the lows or the parking lights? or any other ways? or if anyone else has done this maybe you could post pics of your set up.

I did the full swap with the switch, wiring, relay, and fogs, but others have just put the fogs in and wired them to the parking lights. So, it is possible, but I don't know exactly where to tap in...someone should chime in on how.

GM makes a fog lamp pkg. for trucks from 2006 back to 1999 that comes with 2 Fog Lamps, Dash Switch & wiring harness. You install it and take it to a dealer and get them to re-flash your BCM and presto. OEM quality.

yes, you can tap into the parking lamps, use that power as a switch to fire a relay.

or

goto ebay, and get the whole kit, lights, switch, harness, screws . . . . and then goto the dealer for 50 something, and get your BCM reprogramed.

$85 bucks is a bit steep to me guys. Which diffrent dealers, have diffrent policies. We charge $50 for the re-flash. However our hourly labor rate is $70.00 per hour. But within 50 miles from me other dealers charge $90.00 per hour.

What year truck do you have? I think 99-02 are the only trucks that need to be reflashed, 03+ (and my 04) are just plug and play.
