How many miles would you reccomend for the first oil change in a 05 truck? I currently have a little over 600 miles on the motor. Or should i just wait till i hit 3000?? Thanks

i was told to do it at 1000miles. that is when i did mine.

 

Should i put in the Mobile 1 then or should i wait???

 

i was told 3k from the dealer.

 

@ 500 I put Mobil1 in and then changed again @ 3000

 

My first change was at 500, then 1000, and then every 5000 since. So far 20000 miles and using 5w30 Valvoline Synthetic and AC Delco PF59 filters.

 

I think I changed it at 3-4K on my last two trucks.

 

seems like you would want to run a regular non synthetic type oil
more than 500 to let everything break in properly

 

alot say to do it a t 500 them 1k. I did mine at 2500 the first time and every 3500 after that, No problems yet. When i do change the oil it doesn't look bad at all and i put a decent beatin on my truck.but at 500 it wouldn't hurt.

 

I changed mine at 3k. Everyone does it differently and at different intervals. I have ran Valvoline synthetic since day one.
