Default First Mods...

My brother just bought a truck (03 SCSB Silverado 5.3) and asked me to write this here... "I just got a check for 1000 bucks and wants to put some mods on the truck. What do you guys think I should do? I can get a K&N FIPK for $229 at autozone. Is that a good price? Let me know... oh my truck is a pegleg Do I need an eaton right now or should I wait for later and install Gears (4.10s) Eaton Posi and TA Girdle?"

Thanks...

No sence in making it fast if you can't hook up. I would get an eaton and have it istalled. I can hook you with somedoby who does a good job at very very rasonable prices.

Hey Tib, hook me up. I haven't checked but I bet that most shops around here charge pretty steep.

PM me if you want

Anyone else got ideas to help out my bro?

i would keep the gears. if you are spinning 1 wheel now, wait til after the mods. do get the Eaton though. a good starting place for mods is:

- CAI (like K&N FIPK)
- exhaust
- custom tune

when more $$$ comes along go for:

- headers
- 3000 stall TC
- LS1 e-fans
- cam

Hey thanks for the feedback guys. I forgot to tell you that I already have an exhaust ready except is on another truck. Its a pair of Borlas Pro XS with a Magnaflow xpipe. Its on my dads truck but Ill be taking it off since he doesnt like them anyways. I can get a custom tune (HP Tuners for around $400 so I might try that too.) Im using my brother's account to login. I stole his password. Man I need to make my own account.

Hows this list?...

K&N FIPK2: $250
Tune:$400
Eaton Posi $350??
exhaust:try to get my dad to pay

Total: $950....maybe Ill get a little bit of money from somewhere to do the Posi install.

What do you guys think my truck will run now (bone stock) and after the mods?

Heres a discription of my truck... 2003 Pewter single cab short bed fleetside 5.3 Silverado LS with 32,700K miles. Got it for $14,900 about two weeks ago at Clark Chevrolet. Some options include: folding mirrors, defogger, foglights, steering wheel controls (forget what they are called ). Dont know why it didnt come with the G80 . What do you guys think? Was it a good deal?

BTW, I wasn't able to find a single dent on the truck. Guess the previous owner took good care of her.
