sounds like it... having it repaird would be close to the cost of a new one unless you do it yourself.

A cluster replacement should only run about $350-$375. If you have a good relationship with a dealer you might be able to get them to do a partial goodwill warranty on it due to the special policy coverage GM has out on their IP clusters.

There is a guy on ebay that fixed my 02 cluster and it cost me about $75-$100

It was this guy

or this one, but I think they are the same guy
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/STEPP...Q5fAccessories

he worked fast and I have had no issues. I was a little leary, but as I can't buy the cluster i have anymore, it was important to have it fixed

I'm send mine to this guy, Digital Dash Solutions and he's going to replace all of the stepper motors, all of the bulbs and add an HD trans temp gauge for $200. Not too shabby.
He's on eBay as well.

EDIT: This is the same guy as Stone150 posted.

I would love to have a trans temp gauge that matched my Joe Gibbs cluster. When you get the trans temp gauge, what do you have to do to get it working?

Everything I have read says it *should* be plug and play. Wire it up on the cluster and the provisions are already there on the truck side.

How did this guy do on your guages? Quality work? I saw him on there just a little leary of sending my guage cluster off to someplace Ive never been.
