Default A few questions about reaching my goal.

Let start by stating what I want from a truck. I have a short stretch of highway on the way to work that cluttered with turbo 4 cylinder cars that are quite cocky and drive agressively. The same can be said for many of the diesel trucks as well. I sold my Camaro SS mainly because I prefer trucks much more. I purchased an S10 with the intentions of a LSX swap but I'm now having second thoughts abut the S10 swap since it requires much more to be purchased and has certain levels of difficulty I no longer feel like dealing with so for now its a 2.2L. I'm mainly wondering if its logical to think I could buy a RCSB 2WD for $6000-10000 and put say another $5K into it and accomplish my goal of schooling some ricers and big trucks and maintain reliability, daily drivability, and ease of maintenance. I know $5K maybe alittle on the low side since an upgraded trans is almost for sure needed. Also the most important key to this is it basically has to be done in my own garage since there is nobody in the area that can do performance tuning, or dynos, or anything. Where I live is way behind the times for performance shops. These guys are still playing with carbs.

Have you looked in the classifieds section? You can buy a done truck for that kind of money.

To answer your actual question, Yes it can be done if you shop wisely.

Most of the trucks for sale on here are atleast 1,000 miles away. It looks like H/C/I and a Magnacharger can make about the same power, any benifits to one or the other? If the truck could bust out a 13 flat I guess I'd be content but that's definitely not the fastest thing around.

Is a 6.0 swap worth it? I found one I could acquire for like $500. Does wiring harness or anything need changed or does it direct swap?

I would say a 6.0 is pretty much your best bet, fbo with a little go fast juice and u will have a fun little toy but IMO you will never get its full potential without a tune. I know there is some ppl that do email tunes because anything is better than nothing and you can get really good results with fairly priced parts just do your research and look up previous builds copy the one u like.

That truck is sweet. Those are hard to come by here in Montana since this is 4x4 country so I may have to look around out of state for one. You could throw another $5K for a supercharger and have a serious street truck for $10k.
