"Factory Alarm" replaced battery no worky

my factory alarm or should i say key fob doesnt do anything when i hit the unlock, lock or panic button.
i had a friend do a tune on the truck,and the system worked for a day and now nothing."hp turners"
sometimes the system works and sometimes it doesnt.
is there some sort of sensor that gets dusty or may catch some sort of interference from something?
i replaced the battery with a new battery,so i have tried that already.
