You should not have to calibrate for the difference on the speedometer. The gauge on the left bottom of the cluster is for transmission temperature. It will work when you install the cluster, the sensor and wiring are already there on most GM products. Most are plug and play, but there are some things you have to get done. You should get the cluster flashed with your mileage (and engine hours if you have that currently). This will keep you legal for the odometer. Also, if you have steering wheel radio controls or DIC functions, you will need your VIN flashed to make that work. Clusters are the same for 99-02, then changed in 2003 thru 2005. I'm not sure about the 2006's. There are some differences between each years information functions. Some years provide instant MPG in the DIC and others provide average MPG. If any of this sounds wrong, someone speak up and correct it.

I dont have that gauge on my truck so i was just wondering what it was, and also will that certain gauge work on my truck?

like I said before, NO CALIBRATION is needed!! just plug and play.... the other gauge on is the tranny temp gauge.... which is real nice to have!!

the only calibration needed is the mileage...

From what i understand the vehicles mileage is also stored in the Brake Control Computer as well as the cluster. But im just repeating what i heard and cannot personally verify this. Perhaps someone else has heard the same? GM Techs?

When I took mine to get programmed for the mileage, they wanted to know where I was getting the number. I told them from my original cluster and they went out to look at it.

I have heard it is also stored in something else. I thought I remember hearing the BCM. Most clusters, when you buy new, include a decal that goes in the door jamb that has the mileage when the cluster was changed. However, I would just have it programmed in since it is only like $40, or atleast it was when mine was done.
