Engine temp questions

Default Engine temp questions

Truck - 2000 ext cab 5.3 115k miles
Mods - CAI, Flowmaster dumps, 160 stat, 2 x 1250 cfm efans from vatozone, bully dog triple gt tuner
Problems - Engine runs hot around town in the afternoon and the AC gets super hot sometimes when i first start the truck.
The Fix - ??? Ive checked the coolant, and the radiator... no leaks in the AC or the radiator.
HELP GUYS!

For the AC, see if the compressor is kicking on. Check the AC system pressure.

For the fans, how are they wired? If you only have them wired to run on low speed, they will overheat in the summer in traffic. To run them with dual speed, you need a tune to control them through the VCM and the 3 relay wiring harness. The radiator thermostat things are not very reliable.

It would help if you posted more info about your fan setup.

you need like 4000cfm to keep that motor really cool . try putting the stock fan back on see if it helps . if it does help might want to try some e-fans from a camero . aso a temp senser in the engine will help also .
