140 Eh! How You Know, GPS? Do you have one of these? I got tired of going over 120 and not knowing. A Radix and 3.42 gears is well suited up there.

i took the truck the fastest ive ever been yesterday...my truck either coughed really hard, or i hit my rev limiter in 3rd gear with the converter locked...7200rpm

kind of stupid of me but i got a weird leg spasm haha. i havent driven the truck in about 3 weeks and it felt good to let it breathe. it probably drank a quart of oil haha. i havent checked yet.

 

Not with the intent of bringing back an old thread from the dead (lol...), but in some (not all) cases with the EC wind noise...there may be a more simple fix.

I've spent a bit of time on here myself researching the possibilities of a fix for MY truck. I had made the determination that the "screw fix" would be the most effective, and least expensive. So I headed down to the local hardware store and picked a couple metal screws.

Before I popped the pivot arms loose so I could drill my holes, curiosity got the best of me (as it often does), so I set to taking the door interior apart. (Would have taken pics, but the gf stole the camera for the week ) At any rate, there are only 3 little screws that hold the entire window "seal", along with opening mechanism.... The 2 closest to where the window pivot off of the frame were tight. But the one little guy that sits closest to where the latch mechanism sits, was loose...on both sides. Just loose enough so that when tightened, no more wind noise!!!!

So before any of you guys get too far into parts or other fixes, do yourself the favor of making sure these screws are tight first. I didn't add anything like super glue or LockTite to them at this point in time, as I'm about to pull the door apart again when I throw in the speakers. Then, I will more than likely use something to keep the little buggers tight for good.

 

So how lobg does this screw have to be?

 

ya, i got those latches for my 1999. Now the problem is the damn wind noise around the windsheild. Cant figure out why..Even worse when windy out..
