Exactly. My 95 was terrible when I got it. I priced seals thinking oh this is something simple like weather stripping. Nope seal = window frame = 140ish per side. I got two sheet metal screws and screwed the latch to the cab and adjust as needed and no more noise. Need to do this to my 99 as well. The windows all but don't even touch the seals yet there is no noise and no water leaks.

Thanks

I'm trying to picture this. Before mine came I read of this and was looking it over on my truck to see how the screw thing would go and cannot picture it. Can we get an image of it?

Are the eBay links shorter? They would only have to be 1/8 to 1/4" shorter max.
Those links aren't the part that bends. The piece with the screw holding it down is the part that bends out.

I tell ya, I am a machinist and I held the two up together and could not detect a difference by eye and had no measuring tools but slapped them on anyhow.
I know when you cam lock them down they will travel back towards the loosen direction a tiny bit and I believe the new levers stop short of going over this hump. I do know they worked for me noise-wise.

The part Coban drilled through does not move. It is stationary but kind of a flimsy plastic bracket. The screw job is ingenious. Too late for me.

WoW! Coban. I wish I had seen that sooner and saved the cash. Now get some black screws to swap out and your fix will be stealth.

I did notice that the mounting bracket with the screw for it was really flimsy when installing mine. Not the bracket itself but where it mounted to the door.
