Ive changed a fuel pump on the side of the road in my buddys 1500HD.. took a jackstand and a big block of wood.. unbolted the bed, picked up teh driver side and placed the jackstand and block of wood between the bed and frame. Got under there and swapped the fuel pump assembly and bolted the bed back down.

Ive pulled the bed off my truck twice, i like using the jackstand method better. alot easier.
