Can I just splice both pins from the efan harness together into pin 42 and call it a day?

LMAO! It happens. I chased down a wiring problem for 2 days on my boat and it was a fuse. It was mounted on the starter under a rubber cover. I just stumbled across it.

Glad you got it going!
