As for the BCM, I would be trying to flash an 02 BCM with an 06+ Van flash; would that be successful?
I am not actually certain what my BCM controls in my Tahoe, aside from HVAC. Is ABS part of its job? My T-case is manual so I dont need my t-case module except for the 4lo mapping, which is a thing for me; I'd like to keep. There are work arounds for it however.

FYI the van duramax was detuned. They lowered the torque output to try and make the 4l80e last behind it. I don’t know your intended use for the truck or your budget for a built trans. But keep this in mind.

I actually already have a built 4L80. Been sitting on the shelf for like 2yrs. I have a converter from behind a 6.5 and I have a lead on another billet diesel 4L80 converter. I am of the opinion that a built 4L80 can hold a 400hp Dmax no problem.
Tahoe isn't a drag truck, it's officially only rated for 8200lb towing and compared to a 2500+ pickup it's on the lighter side of life
Whole reason for exploring this swap is the cool factor as well as the added benefit of better economy with cheaper fuel
Even if I sorted out every little detail, I still have emissions to contend with. And right now in NM, this swap is legal. In the 2+ yrs it may take me to finish this, the swap may not be legal
I can improve highway econ and towing performance with a turbo build. I already have a D1 that I am finishing the 8rib kit on. That will improve peak power, but undecided how it will light off the line and tow. The writing is on the wall that it won't improve mpg at any point: highway or not
A duramax Tahoe is a "like to have" not a "need to have". Would match my 4x4 diesel van real nice tho 😉 especially if I hung an AAM 9.25 under the front of the Tahoe
oh pipe dreams

I see what you mean. It would be a lot of effort and not a lot gained. They aren't a true 2500 chassis (just a modified Tahoe back 1/3), I already have the 9.5 from one and I would like to put a 9.25 solid axle under the front of my Tahoe. Not to mention the bumpers are welded to frame and I am building sliders that will also be welded to the frame. The 9.25 in the H2 is also unique in that it's AWD not 4WD. Easy to rectify but I am over IFS. Tahoe is about to have her 3rd front end in only ~70k that I've put on her and I don't like that I rub 33s. Would like to clear 35s and that will require pushing the axle forward 4" or so.
