Your best bet is to go over to Duramaxdiesels.com, they are the worlds experts in anything Duramax...

They do, with a 9.5" ring gear. I believe they are officially referred to as an AAM 9.5 SF

nice build man! Not sure if this is possible with a diesel but sloppy mechanics has an article on how to run a standalone 4l80e setup https://sites.google.com/site/sloppy...ler?authuser=0 This assumes you have drive by cable, i believe duramax's are drive by wire, but the tps is at the pedal. so you may be able to wire into that or rig a 0411 PCM TPS sensor to the pedal.

Damn thats cool! I could just use my current PCM to do that! Trading time for money, but potentially saves on having to find a van donor

I have found a lot of places that make standalone harnesses, and even a place that makes an LBZ to 99-02 trucks; but their harness isnt currently available:

https://www.btdieselworks.com/produc...ersion-harness

So we all know the engine fits, no issues. And we know the trans fits the engine and truck. We know how to control the trans with an appropriate TPS input (barring a van harness)

I guess the real thing to sort out now is: how do I keep the BCM happy and how do I seamlessly integrate things like fan control, cruise control and ABS.

Hmmmm

Go another route, Ben is impossible to get to do anything these days. Your going to need the van donor, there are several differences in the 4l80's mainly the torque converter. I'd just call Josh H at top notch garage in Texas. He has a very fast Duramax van and has vast knowledge of all things Duramax van related. Plus, he is a great guy...

BCM should beable to be flashed to operate normally with van ecm and TCM...
