Once in a while, the truck wont start. If i just go touch the starter, it starts.

Once in a while the guages wont work. If i disconnect and then reconnect the neg battery terminal, its all good again.

what the ****.

Bad ground somewhere it sounds like... Is the starter and dash problems related do you think? Like does the gauges only do it when it wouldnt start the first time?

Yea, sounds like a bad ground or loose connection somewhere...

Nope. I've had starter problem alone, guages alone and this morning: both!

i would honestly check out the positive battery terminal since there are two heavy guage leads. One heading to the main power bus and the other down to the starter solenoid. Atleast it would be a good place to start.

Its the only thing that i can think of that would cause those two problems independently of each other.

I've had the gauge issue which ended up being loose grounds in the back of the cylinder heads. There are three that bolt down back there and you can reach them without taking anything apart.

Stop touching your starter it might be a bad ground you will fry the starter and they wont cover it under warranty cuz you did it try to find the real problem.

He's got that one for you. The other problem is your starter solenoid. Sometimes when they start to go bad you can just tap it and it will engage for you. I wouldn't totally rule out bad connections but if you can't find any just go ahead and replace the starter. I'm not sure if you can buy the solenoid separately for these trucks.
