Default Drilled and/or slotted rotors

Is anybody running these, and what kinda luck have you had with them. I'm thinking about running a 5 spoke wheel that you will be able to see alot of the brakes thru, and want something that looks good behind the wheel. I've seen some complete sets on Ebay, but sceptical of the quality/durability. It ain't gonna hurt to put new rotors on anyway, as I have a slight vibration that I thinking is the rotors....and they are factory @ 100k miles.

I have Praise Dyno cryogenically treated slotted rotors, and they have been performing well for a couple of years now. Personally, I'd stay away from the cross-drilled rotors, as most of what I've heard about them has been negative. They're prone to cracking, and unless you upgrade to a larger rotor, won't help performance since you're actually decreasing the surface area of the rotor. If you're just going for asthetics, that's a different story...but like I mentioned, I've seen pictures where the rotors crack across the drilled holes.

I would stay away from drilling them by hand, even on a drill press. There are things to consider, one of the most important is balance. The next would be material thickness between the area you are drilling and the internal wall that makes up the vent in stock or stock like rotors. They were never really designed to be drilled so doing so could be disastrous in a high load panic stop.
Not saying it can't be done but...be carefull man.

I wouldn't even dream of doing that.

Bad, I am with a few of the others and I have heard negative things on the drilled rotors, as cracking issues.. Now thast just word of mouth and not first hand exp. I personally think that the drilled rotors look shitty, the slotted ones look way nicer..
Something like brackes and drivetrain, I would buy good brand name stuff, but that is meee.. And defently not try to drill them my self

I got alumasports on the front, eradispeeds on the rear. No problems here. Got some pictures - sorry it seems I never took the "after" shots.

Hey SnakeOiler....How do you like that set-up so far? Do you have many miles on your truck since you upgraded? I was thinking of doing exactly the same thing on my truck.
