Default doing some work on an 01 silverado, fuel pump and rear end questions

a shop local to me has a 2001 silverado that they want "quick" they have a D1SC kit for it with 7,10, and 15# pullies as well as an 02 LS6 short block. anyways, i was wondering what you guys do for fuel pumps, are there any drop in kits like us car guys have? if so any info or links would be sweet. Also, for the rearend, i was just giong to do a locker and gears, but was wondering if anyone makes a spool for that particular 8.5" 10bolt. any info on either topic would be great, thanks...

There are a couple options for fuel pumps.

Racetronix sells a dual setup for the trucks very similiar to the 99+ setup for the cars. I believe it's a stocked item now but, you need to make sure you have the right fuel module to work. Thunder Racing is a dealer and probably some other sponsors are also but, I'm not sure which ones.

Speed Engineering makes an external pump setup that uses a Aeromotive A1000 pump along with the stock fuel rails and tank.

Jegs sells a spool for our 8.5" 10 bolt rear(30 spline). I'm sure any of the sponsors that sell rearend parts could get it for you also.

So, how "quick" is this truck gonna go?

My D1 destroye dmy trans with very little abuse in about 1-1/2 weeks. I have a 4.1 pulley in mine, I see 10# on the gauge.
There are in-line pumps that they usually include with the kits. I cant use mine though with modifying the factory fuel lines since my truck has a returnless fuel system.
You can get a spool for the 8.5, but you would also need a c-clip eliminator, which adds to cost and complexity. The lockers are very tough if you can live with the noise.

not to quick really, they want it to run low 12s, it's got a 4l65 they had built for it with a pro yank 3600 converter and HPTuners tuning.

Oh ok, the fuel pumps above are probably overkill then as well as the spool.

I'd say a walboro in the tank with a bigger power wire would be better but, it has to be rigged a little kinda like on the cars. You can do an inline pump also but, no one makes a bolt on kit that you can buy. Magnacharger makes one but, you can't buy it seperate from the RADIX kit.

For low 12's a Eaton posi would be good. The spool is kinda overkill I think for low 12's.

oh yeah, on these truck are the axles 28 or 30 spline? i'm guessing 28, $149 for a spool and $135 for gears is a lot better for a rear diff. to me then $350-400 for a posi and the same for gears. i'll need to find a girdle also...

30 spline.

Yeah but, if you drive it everyday that spool might get a little interesting.

Girdle, Jegs. **edit** maybe not.

Ahh, Thunder Racing has them.
