Im just wondering. It really pisses me off when some one says "its really fast........ for a truck". Does that bother anyone else or am i nuts. I just don't see why people have a problem with saying its just fast and why they have to add in for a truck. Is it to boost there self asteem because they just got smashed on? Just wondering /end baby rant

 

What else do you want them to say? Its fast for a refridgerator with wheels?

I know what you mean.. but since we arent the most aerodynamic things in the world.. i guess thts why ppl say "fast for a truck"...

People dont get the concept of a truck being fast.. only the real hotrodders do.

Scenario:
Deckhand: I spanked this mustang on spray at the track.
Person: Oh really? What do you race?
Deckhand: A silverado truck... hopped up a little
Person: (gives that yea whatever/sure look)

Theres so many things that irritate me when it comes to the generalization of trucks and racing.. but o well.

 

Just tell them "Yeah, and yours is pretty slow......for a sportscar"

Actually though most of us are pretty slow compared to hopped up Mustangs and F-bods. Most of my friends would toast me on the freeway so for them I am indeed slow for the amount of money spent and work done but since it's in a big truck they still give respect. At least I get that. If i ran these times in an F-body with all this money dumped into it I would be the laughing stock of Cali. So it's really not so bad for them to say that. At least they use the word fast in the same sentance.

 

Try telling them it is a truck AND a diesel one at that.....

 

I have seen some diesels tear some sports cars apart though

 

it doesn't bother me that much if someone says that. i just take it with a grain of salt.

 

Yeah, and I like to add that when they break down, I'll be happy to tow them home....and it'll be the fastest their car has ever been!!!

 

I take it as a compliment.
