Default Do-It-Yourself roll in/spray in bed liners. Are they all the same?

I was wondering what forum members think of Do-It-Yourself spray in bed liners. What do you like or dislike about them? Do you feel some brands are better than others? If so, why?

No, but I plan to roll the Monstaliner on my truck. I'm doin the entire exterior & inside the bed with it when I get the time & cash. My truck is just a daily driver/fishin/muddin truck, so goin bedliner exterior was the best option for me, paint gets damaged too easily.

After seeing the Jeep guys fall in love with it & reading their abuse reviews, that sold me on using it. So I requested some samples & decided on black. Its glossy like paint, UV resistant, no crumb rubber bits & drys hard like a polyurethane type finish instead of softer like Herculiner.

No matter what liner you go with, the key is prep! Any bed liner will start peeling right off if you do not prep it right.

My friend has had herculiner in his bed for a little over 3 years now and it's sticking down and holding up great. The only thing is that it has faded quite a bit.

Default bed liner

This current truck I have I got it with the Rhino linings in the bed of the truck already installed. Mind you the Companys warranty does NOT transfer ownership so the reason for the "rest of the story".

Like already mentioned PREP is key. The independant installer that did my truck (now out of business) did a real crummy job on getting the bed prepped & ready for the liner. I have places that you can see the paint under it as he applied the product to thin and not prepping it properly has led to cracking and peeling. Also a few places where it just peeled right off the bed.

It is a good product as its stayed UV acceptable and where it was put down properly, on the bed floor, it has stuck without any peeling other than thru me tossing sliding crap across it & being abusive to the product.

I've used Duplicolor roll on bed liner in several places where the other stuff came off over the last 3 years. It's not quite as thick as the Rhino lining on the 1st application, but if you reapply it while its still wet you can make it thicker. I've used it on my nerf bars and on the pushbar of the truck without it peeling chipping up on me.

My brother used the Herculiner on his last pickup. He was pleased with it even after he put a few motors in the back of the truck sliding the skids or what have you across it. UV did fade it a bit over time though.

I handle Media Relations for Al's Liner. Wasn't aware of this. I'll PM you about it.
