You should just find a truck and test drive it. I prefer automatics, but the manuals would be hard to beat when towing. I think if you get a chance to drive one and get a feel for the trucks you will be able to decide. The 7.3 powerstroke can be made very powerful, but I agree the Cummins will be more durable in the long run.
