Remember when gas prices just started climbing into the $2 range, all the gas staions were scrambling to order extra "2's" for their signs. A friend of mine whos family owns a chain of gas stations told me that they started ordering "3's"

NICE!!!! Now I might not even be able to afford to make it to work. It's like they are giving me vacation time.

When it gets to $3, I'll have to get me a fuel efficient beater to drive to work. Maybe I'll add a fart cannon, wing, and a couple of decals. That would surely get me an extra 5 mpg.

How about, alternate source of energy time? Like that would ever happen either...they have us wrapped around their fingers...and anyone who came up with a vehicle that ran on water(if it doesn't already exist) it would be bought up, patened and thrown on the back burner(like the everlasting tire) so that the greedy bastards could keep making money. /cynical rant off

Everybody is focusing on hybrid BS. GM has been trying to get the Hydrogen fuel cell thing going for years, but no government backing for that.

BTW, hydrogen would kick ***!!! Imagine the power!!!!

Fuel cells(generate electricity) can run on water so to speak, just need a power source for electrolysis to get the hydrogen out.

mzoomora - Yep, hydrogen without worrying about getting it outta water would be great. One of the obstacles is storing it. It takes a big container to store a decent amount. I've seen some research into storing hydrogen that looked promising though.
