Ughh ...

I think they should make it possible to register an ATV for street use, not highway, but street use. That would help some out a lot and I think it would be safer than motorcycles.

I'm really hoping this is just a scare, like last year at the beginning of summer/early spring actually, they hiked prices way the hell up, then gas stations gouged the prices, then they came back down to a 'reasonable' rate from there, comparatively speaking, which kept the majority happy, thus raising the 'reasonable' rate of gasoline evn more so than it already is.

Something to get worked up over .... a guy I know was telling me a story where he was talking and bull shittin with his brother who's driving a brand new company 2500HD CCSB on his time on the company's dollar. His boss man called on his company fone he used as his personal to tell him he needs to clock back in because he doesn't have enough overtime for the week. Anyone wanna take guesses what industry this guy wrks in?

Hydrogen will never work. There are too many obstacles for this to be a long term solution. It gives a net energy "loss"; meaning that it takes more fossil fuels to produce, than it puts out.

Rising oil prices are going to have more of an effect than just our gas prices. Virtually every aspect of our lives will be more expensive. More than 80% of our energy is generated as the result of fossil fuels.

You guys might want to have a look at this:

The next 10 years are going to be very "interesting"...

That's gonna suck if they do. 100 Octane up by the house is normally $4/gal most of the time, can't imagine what it's gonna be if prices jump. I ended up paying $30 today just for a 1/4 of a tank.

pretty much the only good solution right now is hybrid vehicles. the silverado will have a hybrid option soon that will boost fuel economy by 20-30%, i did a speech on hybrids for a class i have.

the only real way to get "free energy" right now would be to have a hydroelectric setup on a creek in your backyard, or a wind setup that charged batteries, which you then charged your electric car with, which also had a solar panel on the roof to recharge while you drive/ are parked.

The only way hydrogen will work is if we use nuclear plants for it.. however, they are pretty expensive to build, not to mention, privately owned nuke plants are usually huge safety hazards. Maintenance, supervisation, and construction of all new nuclear plants needs to be done by the Navy.. they have the knowledge and expertise to make nuclear power safe and reliable.
