It's a Silverado 2500 Quadrasteer, mechanically pretty much box stock except for a Wester's 91 Hot Tune and a Corsa tip since they don't make a system for my truck.

Cosmeticly, I did add the SS front facia, painted the mirrors, debage it (I think I lost 25 hp in the process ), Escalade door handles, 20" Weld Wheels, and a ******* hard tonneau.

I'm hemming and hawing about changing the muffler. I want something that I don't hear unless I get on it. It's an age thing.

I hear you, I'm an old man too. I installed a Gibson catback that was just junk. Now I have a Flowmaster 70 series big block muffler that is nearly silent in the cabin at idle or cruise, yet sounds great on the outside. Much better than the Gibson. However, with the blower I need more flow (the Flowmasters have baffles) and thusly, am going with a custom dual muffler setup using two Magnaflow mufflers in series with each other. Should be quieter than what I have, and flow much better.

That's a beautiful ride you have there...

Hey Naked AV-

Thanks for the compliments on the truck.
I noticed you're in So Cal. Did you change out your cam to optimize your blower? How does that work with the California emissions testing? I'm leaning toward getting the FloPro 2503 muffler, it's supposed to as close to quiet at cruise and throaty when you get on it.

The cam I have is so small as to be almost insignificant....except by the SOTP meter.

I think this just calls for us to put a leg up on others by setting a more performance oriented look. As stated before, even soccer mom's have 20's now a days....but how many have a 2/4 drop and 305 series nitto's? It'll be hard no doubt, keeping an ever growing, "aggressive performance trend." However, in the end it'll cause us (the performance oriented individuals) to become tighter nit and more aware of the finer details.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, as long as we are constantly trying to pull ourselves away from the normal people who just get car asscessories because everyone else is, we will continue to find new ways to seclude ourselves by gaining knowledge on things that your everyday average Joe would never know.

for example:
If a 99+ gm truck would pass by me that was decently moded. Your typical person would notice something like rims and aftermarket hoods. Meanwhile one of us would hone in on finer details such as tire width, ride hieght, exhaust tone, blower whine, parts from different years such as 03 tails etc.

In a sense, it is inevitable that common people will stereotype and notice only certain things. BUT the true automotive goo roo's out there will be able to find things that "stand out" and are "different"......because, well, we know what we are doing.

In the end isn't that all that matters? Who cares if some joe blow of the street says your truck is ok....its when a fellow hot rodder looks at your ride and can pick out all the minute details that you have done to your ride and says ..."damn that is a clean *** ride" To me respect from a fellow rodder is much more valuable than some ghetto fabulous gangster on 24" wire wheels with spinners.
