Default Cruise control on a 6.0L computer/TAC

My truck came stock with a cable driven 4.3L V6 with cruise control. I went from there to a 6.0L computer with a dbw setup. I don't know if the cruise control on/off/set switch is different inside the cab or what cause it hasn't worked since the swap. Any ideas?

Did your V6 come with CC from the factory?

Yes the v6 had dbc cruise control. Switched from that to dbw set up with the tac box. There is no response from inside the cab when I command cruise control

DBW cruise is electronic all the way...it is linked to the electronic trottle body, TAC, BMC and ECU.

Where as the cruise for DBC is linked to a cruise servo motor to operate a cable connection to the mechanical (DBC) trottle body.

These are very different CC set ups...I'm sure more knowledgable members will explain it in more detail.

I understand that they are different. My entire set up is dbw now. I just don't know what is keeping cruise from kicking on in my dbw setup.

The components that drive cruise control in a cable throttle are completely different from that in a wired throttle. The button that controls your DBC cruise is not connected to the ECM for DBW cruise. You'd need to make the conversion. I think I spotted a writeup on here somewhere...

So your saying the turn signal/cruise control lever assembly are different and need to be changed?

Or is there some actual wiring I need to do between the cruise control lever and bcm?

The cruise control an a dbw electronicly controls the tb. The cable tb has 2 cables that go to it, on from the gas pedal, one from the cruise control unit that is mounted on the fire wall. That cable physically moves the tb blade. You will at least have to get a new cc box, but I don't know if there is anything different in the tune.

I understand how dbw and dbc cruise is different. All of the cable driven **** is gone. Everything is DBW now. The only thing that is the same is the cruise/turn signal lever inside the cab. I don't think they are different between the v6 dbc and v8 dbw applications but I could be wrong. Are they the same, but wired differently in the bcm?
