Default Criuse Control

I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado "base" model 4wd auto w/ the 6.0 motor. I would like to put cruise control in it and was wondering if anyone had any info on parts, difficulties, and where to buy. Thanks for your help

I'm sure you could get it from a junk yard. I bet it may even already be wired for it. But if not, JC Whitney sells aftermarket ones pretty cheap.

I would assume the wiring is already in place also but I would imagine that even once you get all the hardware in place, a dealership will have to turn the feature on in the BCM.

Your probably right since that's what they have to do for the driving lights if they are not installed from the factory.

Actually, the wires are probably not there already. I just put cruise on my truck recently because I converted from electronic throttle to cable throttle and therefore lost my cruise. The BCM has nothing to do with the cruise so that shouldnt be an issue. If you are decent with wiring I would say get a shop manual, go to the salvage yard and hack some plugs and get after it.
