If he is in cahooties with his mexican body shop buddies than they are trying to mess you over. The minute you give this guy one red cent is admision of guilt. It is not too late to call your insurance company and tell them what happened. Tell him you are going to call the police and your insurance company and see how he responds. I had a similar incident where I pulled out and outta no where this car almost hit me and was spinning sideways and smashed the curb to avoid me. I assumed it was my fault and had offered to pay for damages. A day later they are trying to get 3000.00 from me because they say the tranny is messed up. I said f%$%$ that and called my insurance company. Come to find out, the guy was driving on a suspended license and my insurance company didnt pay them one penny and it was left at that.

I would have tried to get him to show mw some ID. If he didn't have any I would give him fake info and leave.

00stepsyde, you owned up to your mistake and made things right, even when you could have gotten away with not doing so. You, sir, are a true MAN, a rare species nowadays, and I salute you!

I'm no lawyer but if the person who you hit is not legal to drive in this country or illegally driving, he should not of been on the roads. Even if this is your fault the other guy IMO is liable. Your insurance company will fix your truck and your rates should not go up. Vince

I'm with GMC_Dude on this: you've done the right thing and, since no police were involved, you're not liable for anything else. Fuhgeddaboutit.
